Seacadetcorps Lemmer, the youngest unit.
SCC Lemmer has since it’s foundation, in September 2000, steadily been growing. The unit has the old RNLN minesweeper Roermond as her trainingship and also two sailboats, two rubber boats, a few kayaks and an exercise life raft.
The unit is training 25 cadets in different disciplines: engineering, sailing, cooking, basic first aid, and some other needed skills to survive on sea.

Every saturday the unit meets on the T.S. Roermond, in the harbour of Lemmer. Next to a wharf, the life boat station and different maritime enterprises, the cadets are in the middle of a buzz of maritime business.

T.S. Roermond
The trainingship of SCC Lemmer is an old RNLN minesweeper of the Dutch Navy which was build in 1953 and refitted as a diver training vessel in the late 1960’s. After decommissioning in 1989 the ship was placed in the reserve fleet where it stayed untill SCC Delfzijl needed a ship in 1996, but in 1997 the ship was returned to Den Helder where she was waiting to be scraped.
But in 2002 SCC Lemmer bought the Roermond and from that moment on she is the pride of SCC Lemmer.
